Quasar AOR is more than a just another Classic Rock Station. Why? Because we are old enough to remember AOR in its infancy when it meant Album Oriented Radio. That was in the days before it became highly formatted moving away from its original freeform music policy and developing into Album Oriented Rock (aka Adult Oriented Rock) and Classic Rock.
In those early days the leaning was towards what could be considered good or meaningful music, yes there was plenty of Rock but also Jazz, Funk, Soul and R&B, some stations were even known to play items of Classical music.
We also break the modern radio mould, by getting away from the Corporate Radio ideal of limited playlist’s and mainstream artists only. Broaden your musical horizons with the Quasar AOR album mix, we play great music that most corporate programmers have either never heard of or would ever consider programming.
Here on Quasar we just play
what we feel is good music. From Alisha’s Attic to ZZ Top
with lots in between such as Led Zeppelin, James Brown,
Warren Zevon, Jackson Browne, Franz Ferdinand, Timmy
Thomas, Thunder, Bob Dylan, The Killers, The Police, Stevie
Wonder, The Eagles, Roxy Music, Jimi Hendrix, Green Day,
Bruce Springsteen, The Kursall Flyers, (Hey come on, you
must remember them!) and occasionally even Frank Zappa!.
If your formative years were the late 60's or 70's then
what we do will help bring it all back, that is not to say
that we are an oldies station, we play the best of the
