The Quasar Recipe

• Take a measure of Classic Rock.
• Fortify it with some late 60’s Psychedelic and Progressive Rock
• Add a measure of R&B, Blues and Funk to enhance the flavour.
• Finally, blend well with the best Modern album tracks for 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
• Then sit back, listen and enjoy.

And the great thing is there is no washing up to do afterwards.

The Music
The music policy remains the same as that used by the first European album stations back in the 70’s. The policy is a loosely formatted/freeform style based on what was and is still considered meaningful music.

Although it has a predominately rock sound, that does not disqualify other types of music being played. As in the early days of AOR you will still hear rock played back to back with R&B, Blues, Country Rock, Soul & Funk, all of which have been a contributor to the evolution of Rock Music.

In the words of what became an anthem for the so called FM & AOR stations; Steely Dan's FM:

Worry the bottle mamma, its grapefruit wine
Kick off your high heel sneakers, its party time
The girls don’t seem to care what’s on
As long as it plays till dawn

Nothing but blues and Elvis
And somebody else’s favourite song
Give her some funked up music, she treats you nice

As long as the mood is right

Back in the 70’s the DJ's would play Led Zeppelin back to back with Tower of Power and indeed Steely Dan, music was and still is not about genre's it is about the feeling it invokes in you. As long as the mood is right say's it all. At Quasar we are always in the mood!
